Camera's today have become so good that their images are incredibly clean underneath the right conditions. To make your footage seem a little more vintage, learn how to add a natural amount of Film Grain in Adobe Premiere Pro. In this tutorial, we're going to use the Noise HLS auto effect to add a visual film grain to our footage. This effect is in the "obsolete" category, which means Adobe is doing away with the effect very soon. So, the only Noise effect that will be left is Noise. At the amount, Noise HLS is a great effect as the noise is automatically animated, and you get to control where you want the grain to standout in your footage. Here's the breakdown from the Tutorial: 1. Add the HLS Nosie Auto Effect to your footage. 2. Change Uniform to Grain. 3. Then go to window – Lumetri color. Open the Color Wheels & match tab. Then click comparison view. Move the reference time indicator to be on top of your reference frame. Then just click Apply Match. And it’s that easy! As a quick tip you may need to adjust your basic color correction as this is not 100% perfect.
